14KW Rooftop Solar PV System in CT
Consulting Engineering Services teamed with their sister company LMG and Muir Electric to plan and build a 14 kW solar PV system on their 14,000 s.f. office building in Middletown, Connecticut. In February of 2009 the team successfully completed the new solar system with dual axis solar tracker and solar hot water.
This distributed generation project is our highlighted installation for the week.
The dual axis solar tracker will produce roughly 1.5 kw and is made up of eight pole-mounted solar electric panels that rotate as it tracks the sun’s position throughout the day. This tracker maximizes the solar energy provided by the sun by constantly adjusting its position to match the optimum angle to the sun.
The rooftop system consists of 72 Schuco solar panels that will generate approximately 15,000 kWh annually. One of the rooftop panels is dedicated to a new solar hot water system that includes a drain back tank in the janitors closet. One of the major challenges in the design of the system was attaching the solar panels to an existing standing seam roof.
CES worked closely with Girard and Company, LLP Structural Engineers to formulate a solution while maximizing available roof space. This system will make enough hot water to support the buildings needs 50% – 75% of the year.
This system not only provides clean energy to the building, it also allows CES employees to gain valuable hands-on experience in the design and installation of such systems. CES is be able to track the power output and efficiency for the lifetime of the system, and share this data with clients that are exploring solar electricity for their own projects.
CES was able to complete this project through the help of grants received from the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) and is also an approved Connecticut Clean Energy Fund PV Installer. As of July 1, 2009 the CCEF has reopened its Small Solar PV Rebate Program (SSPVRP) with $3.1 million in new funding for residential solar installations. hi,
i wanna cover my new buldings ( apartmans and village houses, build with straw) an d i needmore information about solar energy to electrical energies…
in turkey only one small factory doing these systems… and it cost really high…
i wanna ask you how much money i need for using this system for 100 m2 house…
also i want more information about franchising system. have any system like this? in dfferent countries…

Franchising business is good but some franchise needs some cold hard capital to start with.;.,
